Natural Horween® Illini Latigo Football Leather Belt — Solid Brass Hardware


Crafted from 8–9 oz Horween® Illini Latigo football leather, this belt is built from the same leather lineage used in Official NFL footballs — engineered for strength and resilience. Illini Latigo is a vegetable-tanned, wax- and oil-stuffed leather originally developed for athletic performance, resulting in exceptional tensile strength, resistance to stretch, and long-term durability.


This leather has a slightly firmer body than dress leathers, with a subtly textured grain and a dry, waxy hand that feels purposeful and substantial. It breaks in slowly and evenly, maintaining its structure while developing a rich, burnished patina that reflects wear without ever feeling fragile or overly soft.


Each belt is cut, edged, finished, and assembled entirely by hand, then paired with solid brass hardware — available in raw brass or nickel-plated brass — for timeless aesthetics and long-term corrosion resistance. The result is a belt that feels rugged, dependable, and grounded from day one, while aging into something deeply personal over time.
